I am a gamer, an artist and a hobbyist video game designer. When I'm not doodling one resource or another, I love to read books, make paper crafts (cards) and bake yummy goodies.
Fantastic job. The fact that you have a coherent and interesting narrative is even more amazing owing to your superb artwork.
I'm an imaginative writer but a terrible artist and so really I admire that you are able to express both talents.
I'm also feeling like we've hit the same wavelength, as I've had similar ideas about deviating the battle system away from "mashing the attack button to win".
I have high hopes for your work and hope that you continue to completion. Afterall it will be good competition for when I start a project!
I've always been interested in writing and art, but it's absolutely amazing what some basic practice has done for me. I look back at how this project was when I first started, and I'm amazed at how far I've come along. This project has challenged me and taught me a lot.
One of the biggest things I've learned is that it's okay to maximize your strengths. Every player has something they love. If you can hit the right note in one area, they'll be a little forgiving in others. So, while giving attention to all areas of game development, don't be afraid to really let your strengths shine.

I'm looking forward to seeing your project.
Thanks for your help in the forums! I'll be watching your work very closely.
ReplyDeleteI'll let you know when I've got something concrete put together, but don't expect anything approaching as lovely as yours for awhile!
