One of the last things I did for TUAH before I got super busy is to start converting NPCs into a mix of VX-Ace and RMXP. Basically, I took the VX-Ace heads and stuck them on RMXP bodies. I do like very much how it turned out, and I'd like to eventually have a huge converted database, but it might be a while before that happens.
I figured I'd share a few of the sprite sheets anyway, just in case they're useful to someone out there.
Terms of Use:
Free for use in non-commercial games made with RPG Maker products.
Please note that you must own both RMXP and RMVX-Ace in order to legally use these sprites.

Enjoy, and let me know what you think. I can post a few more when I find a free moment. :)
Wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :D
DeleteThat works really well! I always preferred the taller XP sprites...
ReplyDeleteIt took me a long while to warm up to the teeny VX/Ace RTP, and I'm still not a giant fan. They are kind of cute and easy to sprite on, maybe... But I still prefer taller, too. :D
DeleteYay update! :D I've missed your blog posts.
ReplyDeleteThe sprites look really awesome.
Thank you!
DeleteI really wish I had more time to blog on a consistent basis. But I often barely have enough time to do the most pressing things. I'll make an effort to post a little more when I can, though.
Hello, I just recently searched the Steam workshop and have found some of your work.
ReplyDeleteI plan to make my game and eventually make it a commercial product and i would love to use some of your work.
please contact me on my website. thank you.
Thanks for getting in touch!
DeleteThe easiest (and quickest) way to get in touch with me about commercial-related questions is to send me a pm on the official RM forums (http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/). I check there multiple times per day, and I can quickly go over my TOS and so on.
So, please feel free to pm me on the forums. My username's Lunarea. :)
They are quite lovely Lunarea! I'd love to see more.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI will try to add more asap. :)
I'm definitely not the first person to think of it, and probably not the last. I just figured these characters are already done, so it doesn't hurt to share them. :)
ReplyDeleteWere you able to finish up your Rome tile set Lunarea? The preview looked wonderful, you're extremely talented.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comment!
DeleteUnfortunately, I have not finished the Rome set. I would still love to, of course, but I need a lot more hours in the day. Or a clone, or something. XD
I love these! I Assume one an use them in either program?
ReplyDeleteTechnically, you need to own both XP and VX (or VX-Ace) to use them. They are formatted for VX-Ace, as I assume most people are using that. :)
DeleteWell, since i got XP as part of the Humble Bundle, it should be no problem. I wish we were using this for Wyrm Warriors, bu twe're not.
DeleteWhat a beautiful character sprite...
ReplyDeleteI like this.
What are the terms of use in commercial games?
ReplyDeleteNon-commercial use only at the moment, sorry. :)
DeleteI did exactly the same as you did, disassembled, sorted and mixed all XP/VX/Ace Parts and fed them into GCH. If I generate a sheet, I can probably get the same results as you did... does that mean, I can't use them in a commercial project, because you did this before me? Is this official?
ReplyDeleteHi Isaac,
DeleteMy process was different and involved pixel work and recoloring, aligning and otherwise setting up manually.
If you can generate your own material and have the rights to use it -- i.e. own both RMXP and RMVX-Ace and are using it in RPG Maker-created project - you can use it commercially. :)

DeleteI played Twice Upon a Hero today and I wondered if it will ever be finished. :c I'm dying to know what happens to them.
ReplyDeleteI sure would love to! I've had a really busy patch lately, but I'm hoping to have more time to create in the upcoming year. :)
Delete:D wow! I appreciate the reply. I really love your game and the effort put into it. I'm excited to hear/read about updates. Happy New Year! (even if it's late)
DeleteHello Lunarea,
ReplyDeletewe are very interested in using your art in our upcoming project. This does not only refer to this post and we would discuss it in more detail via mail.

Hi Lunarea! I played your game a few years ago and it's my favorite rpg maker game by far. I know life gets busy but I will always hold out hope to play more of the story. Hope you are okay :)
ReplyDeleteHello Lunarea! I want to know how much you charge for a Custom Tileset to my game. I want to buy a Custom Tileset.
