VX/XP Characters (NPCs 1)

Wow, it's been ages since I updated...

One of the last things I did for TUAH before I got super busy is to start converting NPCs into a mix of VX-Ace and RMXP. Basically, I took the VX-Ace heads and stuck them on RMXP bodies. I do like very much how it turned out, and I'd like to eventually have a huge converted database, but it might be a while before that happens.

I figured I'd share a few of the sprite sheets anyway, just in case they're useful to someone out there.

Terms of Use:
Free for use in non-commercial games made with RPG Maker products.
Please note that you must own both RMXP and RMVX-Ace in order to legally use these sprites.

  1. That works really well! I always preferred the taller XP sprites...

    1. It took me a long while to warm up to the teeny VX/Ace RTP, and I'm still not a giant fan. They are kind of cute and easy to sprite on, maybe... But I still prefer taller, too. :D

    1. Thank you!

I really wish I had more time to blog on a consistent basis. But I often barely have enough time to do the most pressing things. I'll make an effort to post a little more when I can, though.

    1. Thanks for getting in touch!

The easiest (and quickest) way to get in touch with me about commercial-related questions is to send me a pm on the official RM forums (http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/). I check there multiple times per day, and I can quickly go over my TOS and so on.

So, please feel free to pm me on the forums. My username's Lunarea. :)

  5. I'm definitely not the first person to think of it, and probably not the last. I just figured these characters are already done, so it doesn't hurt to share them. :)

    1. Thanks so much for your comment!

Unfortunately, I have not finished the Rome set. I would still love to, of course, but I need a lot more hours in the day. Or a clone, or something. XD

    1. Technically, you need to own both XP and VX (or VX-Ace) to use them. They are formatted for VX-Ace, as I assume most people are using that. :)

    2. Well, since i got XP as part of the Humble Bundle, it should be no problem. I wish we were using this for Wyrm Warriors, bu twe're not.

    1. Non-commercial use only at the moment, sorry. :)

  10. I did exactly the same as you did, disassembled, sorted and mixed all XP/VX/Ace Parts and fed them into GCH. If I generate a sheet, I can probably get the same results as you did... does that mean, I can't use them in a commercial project, because you did this before me? Is this official?

    1. Hi Isaac,

My process was different and involved pixel work and recoloring, aligning and otherwise setting up manually.

If you can generate your own material and have the rights to use it -- i.e. own both RMXP and RMVX-Ace and are using it in RPG Maker-created project - you can use it commercially. :)
